Grant Items 

NORTH 

Consideration and possible authorization to disburse up to $1,200,000 to the City of American Canyon to complete technical studies, 60% design, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documentation, and draft permit applications, and to conduct public outreach for the American Canyon Wetlands Restoration and Public Access Project Phase II, which will restore or enhance over 60 acres of wetlands and associated transitional habitat along the lower Napa River, improve fish passage, improve water quality, raise 1.2 miles of existing Bay Trail out of the floodplain and increase its resilience to future sea level rise, improve public safety for the trail, and build a new Bay Water Trail trailhead and associated facilities, in American Canyon, Napa County.

Consideration and possible authorization to disburse up to $1,300,000 to the County of Marin to further preliminary designs, collect data and perform technical studies, prepare CEQA documents, and prepare regulatory permit applications for the McInnis Marsh Beneficial Dredge Sediment Reuse and Tidal Wetlands Restoration Project, which will improve future tidal restoration potential of the McInnis Marsh Basin in Marin County by restoring 22 to 30 acres of diked wetlands and the reversal of subsidence across 140 acres of marsh.

Consideration and possible authorization to disburse up to $1,000,000 to K to College, doing business as SupplyBank.org, to conduct the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline Restoration and Flood Management Project, consisting of conducting feasibility studies and community engagement, developing designs, and preparing permit applications for tidal marsh restoration and nature-based flood management features at Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline in Alameda County.

WEST 

Consideration and possible authorization to disburse up to $300,000 to Literacy for Environmental Justice from the Authority’s Community Grants Program to implement the Southeast San Francisco Shoreline Stewards Project, consisting of shoreline stewardship capacity building, habitat enhancement, climate adaptation planning, and workforce development in San Francisco.

Consideration and possible authorization to disburse up to two hundred seventy eight thousand six hundred sixty dollars ($278,660) to San Bruno Mountain Watch to implement the Healing a Wounded Watershed with Colma Creek Collective Project in San Mateo County, consisting of community-led restoration on approximately one-quarter to one-third acre at the mouth of Colma Creek; hosting restoration education workshops, watershed field trips, and community-based shoreline restoration events; and collecting and distributing historical Colma Creek Watershed information.

SOUTH 

Consideration and possible authorization to disburse up to $330,730 to Grassroots Ecology to restore and enhance two acres of marsh-adjacent upland habitat with a focus on benefits to the burrowing owl and monarch butterfly within the Alviso district of San Jose in Santa Clara County; and through work with local community groups, to provide training, education, and workforce development as part of conducting the restoration and enhancement.

20. Adjournment 

Note: Agenda items may be taken out of sequence at the discretion of the Restoration Authority. At any time during the meeting, but prior to the adjournment of the open session of the meeting, the Restoration Authority may recess or adjourn to closed session to consider personnel matters, prices and terms of real estate transactions, and possible and pending litigation. Session will be closed to the public pursuant to attorney-client privilege and statutory authorization under Government Code Sections 11126(a), (c)(7), and (e).
