San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority Advisory Committee Meeting 

August 21, 2026, 10 am – 12 pm

The Advisory Committee meeting on August 21, 2026 will be an in-person project site visit, hosted by Grassroots Ecology, at the location below: 

 

150 Nortech Parkway 

San Jose, CA 95134 

Meet inside the gate at the end of Nortech Pkwy and along the unpaved road 

 

Grassroots Ecology will introduce site visit attendees to the Alviso Shoreline Habitat Restoration Project and their partners on the project: Talon Ecological Group, Alviso in Action, and Climate Resilient Communities. Attendees will tour the habitat restoration area, collect seed from native plants, and learn about burrowing owl ecology. Activities may involve bending, kneeling, and walking on uneven terrain.  There is little natural cover on site; Grassroots Ecology will provide tents for shade. No bathrooms or running water are available at the project site. 

Attendees should be prepared with the following: 

  • Reusable water bottle, filled with water 

  • Snacks, if desired 

  • Long pants and long sleeves 

  • Sturdy closed-toed shoes that can get dirty 

  • Hat/sunscreen 

  • Sit pad or camp chair, if desired 

  • Epi-Pen or allergy medicine, if applicable 

  • Plan for potential exposure to sun, wind, prickly plants  

 

If you want to provide public comment but cannot attend the site visit, you may submit a written comment in advance to: info@sfbayrestore.org. Public comments received by 5 pm on the Tuesday before the meeting will be distributed to the Advisory Committee. Emails received after 5 pm on the Tuesday before the meeting will not be considered. If you want your name and/or organization included in the public record, please include that information in your comment. Public comments may be posted on the Authority’s website and are subject to California's Public Records Act, codified at California Government Code Section 7920.000 et seq. Please do not include personal or private information you do not want available to the public.
